Doh, the plan has changed

What's VIP stand for though Johnny Very Idiotic Phil :blast:blast:blast

I wouldn't do the TT event personally, not my bag. Although I do have a set of TT panniers for the wee beastie now :thumb

What too many dents in the old ones giving somewhat limited capacity for the sarnies!!!

Partly because they will hold more food, but also better for sitting my fat ass on when I am overcome with fatigue from cooking the bacon sandwiches :thumb

Quick update

Phoned my brother and told him I was going to set fire to the feckin thing :thumb

If you are considering updating your dakar, I suggest selling it and buying something else :D:D:D

Anyway, loaded the old girl into a van and dropped it off at Syco's pad. Within 2 hours we had the spacers machined (almost, need a slight modification) and things are looking up :clap:clap:clap).

Once the wheel spacers are done, I need to purchase a new chain and sprocket set (although chain needs to be substantially longer than standard) and the rebuild should come together well.

I'll take piccies when the wheels are in properly :thumb

glad to hear you are enjoying the dakarfication:augie
stick with it.
its going to be one hell of a bike Flipfly
you are SO going to love it even more.

Ooh, I seem to remember you had a particularly nice one, what was it now?

HAD being the main part of this sentence :D:D:D

Don't speak to him, he is the devil in disguise. He'll tempt you with lots of goodies at good prices and then just when you think you've got enough...............wham, he pops up with more temptation :blast:blast:blast

This is all his fault and I'll never forgive him!! (until he offers me more shiney stuff :eek::eek:):D:D

Flip, I've lost track with this, what is it you're turning the 650 into? :)

It's gonna be a beast :D:D:D:D

I've just updated the front and rear suspension and the exhaust. Problem has been that the swingarm is off an original Dakar bike and didn't fit with the Excell wheels (they must have run different hubs or the spacers that were supplied were wrong). Also had no chainguard mounts. Thankfully Vern has worked his magic and it is now road legal.

The WP front suspension Yokes were TT items but had no Ignition mount and there was no wheel spacer for that either.

I knew when I bought this that it would be a pain in the arse, and it has proven to be such.

As for you Proff, you know where the door is, use it :D:D:D

How dare you sully our modern bike section with ya wee smell :rob:rob:rob
