Don’t want this and don’t think I need it, how do I remove it?

I know what it’s for and what it does and I don’t want it :D waiting for Dr Farkoff and his removal instructions ;)

Pretty sure it sucks up petrol fumes or something similar?

Then feeds them back into the combustion process

Evap canister,

Open it up, it should have a charcoal filter in there ..

However if the tank has been overfilled at anytime , the excess petrol runs into the canister ,

turning the charcoal filter to sludge, rendering the canister & it's properties useless :yelrotflm

Afaik you can just remove and cap the ends, it only gets used under certain circumstances,

Its for the US market so why its on your bike ....mystery

It’s an American import :thumb with no rust, does have dust though :D

Which means your ECU will have a chunk of code in it relating to the operation, the others touched on it, it stores fumes, and feeds them back into either the combustion / exhaust cycle (green option)

I dont think it measures values etc, if i recall it's pretty crude as things go, a solenoid that opens and closed when asked by the ECU.

i dont think theres any emissions sampling or diagnostics done by the bike, so if its purging nothing it dosent know ...

It's listed on the 04-06 hexhead wiring diagram as a fuel regeneration valve, pins 30 & 77 (its basically a soleniod that opens and closes on demand )

you could start by unplugging it electrically and capping / the hoses , run the bike for a while and see if it throws any error codes ...

the problem would be if you leave the hoses open to air, as that may upset any fuel maps etc
