For anyone looking to get into the world of the water cooled, much has been said recently about the new GSA, but the GS WC is a well capable steed..
I'm from the East coast, just had a little trip to midlands, then London for an overnight, Channel tunnel to Calais then overnight in Bruges City centre, (cobbled roads & all) then a little bumble for an overnight stop in Paris, mostly main roads guys cos had to get a bit of city centre nightlife in with a few beers at night..
Then a one stint trip from Paris (Montmartre) to Lincolnshire, nearly 1000 miles in total & 8hours from Paris & 416 miles last leg in uk..
Bike flawless really, nimble, straining to go, cruise control great, used vario top box & BMW rear seat soft bag, left vario panniers at home this trip as they do act as wind brakes a little & restrict my filtering, used the BMW small tank bag that's been sat unused for a few months but fits very nicely & nice retaining straps that allow fast fuel refills.. Right.. Fuel tank, not big enough, does 200 miles but I prefer slightly bigger, also when full helps keep the front wheel on the floor.. Akrapovic, fitted last week, sounds so nice, a guy on the Chunnel on a blackbird even mentioned it when we parked up..
Mpg for some of u guys, not important for everyone but average 48mpg some at autobahn speeds.. ( less with panniers)
Screen.. I'm 5ft 10' with a shark evoline flip helmet, adjuster about 2/3rds of the way extended, slight wind but keeps most of the pressure off me, side winds are hitting body & bike squirrelly but easily recoverable, & in some areas there were heavy winds..
Wind protection not as good as GSA (knee area) & at 2celcius for last 100 miles I got cold..
RIGHT, I so want a GSA WC, but I think I'll be keeping this little white GS WC a little while longer yet, I'm not finished with her..
Yo...
