dont get too close with the jet wash

Took my 2002 1150R 11650m back to the dealer last week with top to bottom play on the rear wheel which they booked it in for some new paralever bearings.
So I took the bike in yesterday only to find out that the rubber gator on the swing arm had been letting water in for quite some time & had taken the uj on the drive shaft with it as well consequently new drive shaft & bearings wanted.
the mechanic said it blooks as though the bike has been jet washed too close or been rode through a lot of fords he also said that he has only ever seen it before on the GS models that have been off roaded so be carefull.
Ive only owned the bike for 4 months dont own a jet wash & never been through a ford so looks like the previous owner but never mind was all done under warranty no problems at all.

Mine were buggered recently, too. Not under warranty, though, but not too expensive at the local independent guy. They were dry and rusty when dismantled. Sounds similar to yours.

Dont get to close to the jet wash

Had same probs with my 1150 at just 6,000 mls. Never seen a jet wash or ford.Can you believe it.
