I though I'd just balance out the product views here, by saying that whilst clearly a bit old fashioned, the Garmin V still can cut the mustard.
Yes, its a bit slow, short of memory and you do need good eyesight, but I got mine 2nd hand for £200.
With the navigational capacity of a dizzy tortoise, my touring holiday in the US would just not have been the same without it. Despite the pirated map without routing/prompts, it still made the difference.
Bolted onto the rented HD in 5 minutes, the only problem was they confiscated me 11mm spanner at the airport on the way home
If you think that a GPS is too expensive, then consider a V.
