I put my bile into the dealers for my 6,000 mile service and realised that i had forgotten my service book.
No worries i will post it to you when i get back. Posted it, never arrived at the dealers, presumed lost in the post. No worries they said we will order you a new one and stamp it up. Great i thought.
Rang up today to see were it was, they said its here, we just need to relieve you of £14.00 English pounds:eek:eek Feck £14.00 for a booklet, i could buy a good novel for that.

robbing barstewards - they should at least have told you there'd be a cost. You'd think they might chuck it in when you've just spent (presumably) top dollar on a service ... :nenau

I bet your original is lying around somewhere at the same dealers.

Don't let it out of your sight in future :blast :thumb2

think yourself luck you dont have a chrysler PT cruiser they robbed us of £35for lost service book (prob lost by garage)

Who cares about a service book?

Stamps can be forged.

Invoices for servicing and other work done is what really matters. Very difficult to forge, as can be very easily verified by ringing dealer with invoice number.

When my bike got stolen, the insurer wasn't interested in seeing the stamps (good job because I never bother with them), and wanted to see invoices. For reasons above.

When pxing bikes / cars I have always provided invoices, not stamps, to no detriment to amount offered by dealer.

I would rather a bunch of invoices than stamps any day.
