I know you can get the latest mapping from garmin, but is it possible to get an earlier version?

I have CN8, but would like version 6 with the smaller size map sections so it takes less memory on the quest loading a route! Has anyone ever tried to get an earlier version from Garmin?

If you really want to go retro on the technology, you could try using a map.

No,not posible!! I once tried and Garmin refused although I had a spare unlock code for v6 ..the mistake I made was to install v8 first which rendered v6 invalid .If you want small maptiles Get MG v7 and send the tiles to the Gps with Metrowiz which will make the maps routable.

Excuse the ignorance but what is MG?

Sorry!! MetroGuide.

Edit : I have just loaded 84 MG v8 maptiles which cover SW england, most of Wales across to Birmingham, Reading through the middle of london then south to Southhampton, so a good chunk onto my GPSMAP 60c's 56mb memory and its all routable and address searchable.
