I've recently got a small laptop for travelling with.
It's running windows.

Put Basecamp on it but it's shite and want to download Mapsource, trouble is there's no CD drive otherwise I'd use that.

I've had a search through all the free downloads via google but not sure what's what:confused:

Tim if you already have the mapsource dvd copy it to a usb stick or whatever and install from there...

Also worth picking up a USB powered DVD drive, only £35 at PC-World so must be cheaper on line. Lots of options reloading OS, and installing software without extra steps.

Glad you got sorted Tim :thumb

My next suggestion was as RCE suggests ...

My little netbook (Samsung NC10) has no CD/DVD drive so bought a cheapy just to download programmes like Mapsource, Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Premier Elements so that on a tour not only can I hook up to WiFi and the internet but I can download peoples piccies and maybe do some basic editing if required (usually to turn them the right way up)

Also download on board camera footage for folk to see...

All the best with it :thumb

Yes ... I never thought about the memory stick way of doing things either :rob
