Never having owned a GS before so please forgive this question if you have heard it before, but a search never turned anything up!
But the right hand downpipe has gone blue up near the cylinder but the left one hasn't!
I would have thought they would be the same?

hilltop guy said one cylinder runs a little leaner than the other

Mine had this too. It was very pronounced. Much less so since a Hilltop remap

Get some Akra headers, they go nice and brown.:thumb

The right hand side blues due to heat off opposing passing traffic. On the Continent it occurs on the other side.

dont buy the cheap crap Akra stainless ones , go titanio:D

Roamer,

My 2015 TE came with crome pipes, after 1,000 miles they just seem to have a couple of brown stains, the stainless ones on my 2013 LC went a nice golden brown??????

It's not that I mind the blueing, just that there is such a difference, bike is a 2014 model, just over a year old with 4400 miles on the clock, it is due it's annual service so hopefully something can be done then. Titanium downpipes look great with the HP exhaust but was trying not to go down this route this time around (Having done this with nearly every sports bike I have owned!) and I bet the weight saving is a bonus.

Nothing will be done to the headers at the annual service, and for your own dignity, don't mention the blueing to the service department, as they may take the piss out of you for mentioning it!:D

id go in all guns blazing and play holy f**ck up!

Thanks Guys, you're not helping! ...........I meant I hope at the service they can get it running more evenly, noticed today on tick over it hunts a bit, I never noticed it before?

Was still a great ride otherwise!

Just polish out the blueing with Autosol about once a month.

I do this on my 2014 RT LC and they still come up like new after nearly 6000 miles.
Safe riding,
Mike

Blimey that's a clean RT, interesting that you have a crud catcher and a fender extender? what make is the crud catcher, do you have any clearance issues, I have read that you can't use both on the GS which is a shame cos I still get crap thrown up on the front of the engine!
