Down to 1 Guzzi

Well, a very nice man from this site has just ridden away on my (His) lovely 8V Stelvio. My V85 TT is now all alone in the workshop.
I can't remember the last time I only had 1 bike. But I'm getting older not as fit and strong as I used to be, but blessed that I can still manage the V85 without any real problems.
Will another bike join it? I will try to resist (for this week at least). But I think I'm at the stage in my life where 1 bike makes sense. I would like a project Guzzi but everyone just seems to want stupid money for them.

It's on my radar. I shall watch it now.
I've just watched it, and still got back in time to edit my post . Very interesting. Although to be honest I'm not sure it would offer anything my V85 doesn't. Which by the way ( richh ) is a fabulous bike.

You could like me, buy an electric mountain bike and use that too maintain fitness and strength, just because you feel your getting old, or are old, doesn't mean you cannot enjoy good days ahead, and travel on minor roads, paths not for motorcycles, keeping active more.
Your bike riding days are normally over when the smart wife's says so, or a fat lady sings.

Mate of mine an ex bike cop has done the big bike thing over the years and as well as his old British stuff he now runs around on an immaculate Moto Guzzi V35 (he had a V50 Monza for a while ). Absolutely loves the bike and it's slightly slower pace of life, so much so that he is planning a trip next year down to the Guzzi factory museum on the bike

Well that “very nice man”, to quote @Wrinkly was me. And buying from Steve was as straightforward forward and easy as any purchase I’ve ever made. Experience shows.

The bike is fabulous. I rode it home Monday and liked it a lot. Spent Tuesday learning my way around it, set the suspension back to factory settings, and stared at it and caressed it a lot. Spent today (my birthday too) riding it two-up as that’s what we got it for. We went to the Wensleydale Heifer in Wensleydale for very posh fish and chips, and good run the long way round across the Dales and back. We were out from 10am to 7pm. It’s everything we wanted, all the character, comfort and build quality of the V85 but with the right amount of power such that I barely know I’ve got a pillion on the back. I will miss cruise control and I think I’ll need a smaller screen along with a right hand heated grip, although an Oxford or similar should easily graft on. Otherwise it’s all good and this will be our go-to Guzzi. Expect to see a V85 for sale before too long. I’m keeping the Griso. I’m hoping that’s a long term investment.

Watching you ride away on Monday I had a massive dose of sellers remorse (not something I usually experience) but I am so pleased you love the the bike. Whats up with the right hand heated grip?

I reckon you need another V7 to fill the gap

You need to look out for a V50ii, small and light, will always need a fettle, and it would bring the Guzzi count back up to 2.

You won’t want it Steve, but I saw a Centauro for sale on Facebook yesterday. It was in Cottingham too, so local. I’ll see if I can find it again.

Edit….I must have been mistaken, I found the advert but it’s in Jedburgh and doesn’t look to be brilliant. Nice but needs attention I should think.
