Thank you, that's a reassuring remark. Please don't get me wrong, I do love the 1200s but I'm 62 now and I have a right knee that plays up regulary and I can't mess with the weight of an Adventure.
I'm guessing you have been through a few steering head bearings and wheel bearings along the way?
How do you manage your chain? How often do you have to lubricate it and adjust it?
I still own a '92 r100r which has a full BMW screen, paddle indicators, excellent headlight, Corbin seat and BMW touring panniers. I don't need to even think about panniers, better screen etc on the 650 as I have the r if I want to go camping or plough down a rainy motorway in the middle of winter
I have a BMW insurance policy that insures the main bike (for £177) and allows three more for £10.50 each.
My fleet will now be 2011 F650, 1992 r100r and a 2002 C1 125
Regards
Phil
