Does anybody know how to create and download a route on Google Maps and download it to a Garmin GPS.

I'd like to do the same from an iPad and the Bluetooth it to my Nav 5 - now that would be really useful but I won't hold my breath because Sat Nav stuff is generally crap and a pain to use and far too time consuming.

Blimey, how long-winded is that?!! Definitely sticking to Motogoloco....much quicker, easy, one click export as a GPX file and then its there waiting for you in Basecamp. All you have to do is upload it to your satnav! How much more complicated do people want it?!

I really have no idea. I plot all my routes very easily in BaseCamp from the start, which saves all and any fucking about in third party software like MotoGoShite'o and Googley maps in the first place.

I just Googled up: Transfer routes from Google maps to BaseCamp and then cut the links to the videos out. I was generous to a fault, in that I took the trouble to embed the video's, too. Many others wouldn't bother. It took about a minute. The OP could have done the same, except he probably couldn't be arsed.

Your turn, mate....

PS Oops, sorry I forgot. BaseCamp is absolute shite. Unusable. Everyone MUST use something else. MeaCulpa. Silly me.

Thanks all for the input, I was asking on behalf of a mate, I still use Mapsource. I have passed on all of the info.

You can google map all the routes you like. If your GPS maps are not exactly the same as Googles, something will go wrong somewhere.

As I have found to my detriment................. The best of the third party planners is 'Tyre'............. IMO.

Good luck.

you can transfer routes from an ipad to a garmin device although not via bluetooth, and there are a couple of must have requirements before this is possible. And most people would not want to do this because of what it involves.
