draining the fuel Tank help needed

Can anyone tell the best/easiest way to drain the fuel tank on an 1100GS when the fuel pump doesn't work? the tank is fairly full and i need to drain it to replace the fuel gauge unit. thanks

Tank drain

Get a can (large) out a large funnel in it and take the tank open the cap and just pour it out. Not scientific but it works.

siphon it, using CLEAR tube.

just to say that I tried the siphon method and came to grief with a serious lung/fumes combo - think it was not being able to get the tube in the right place (story of my life).

Be careful, fuel in the lungs can easily be fatal
