Dreaded alternator question - AKA anyone got a spare denso ?

i have what appears to be the usual problem - a 2011r12gs that stood for a couple of months and then cracked the alternator housing when trying to start
any one got a spare one kicking around ?? its a denso unit with E50 looks like a seven 9 X on it ??

I dont have the constitutional fortitude never mind the depth of pocket to ask a BMW dealer

It seems that everyone knows that these are expensive and are milking the price.

It’s the same alternator fitted to the RNineT range which might help in your search.

The only alternative supplier that I could find are these who are remanufactured in America. Though there may be others.
