GoPro HDs still much better quality though more ££, depends on what you're planning on using it for but you might want to look into how well it works in the dark? shameless plug to my channel everything done on an HD2 http://youtube.com/pympster
I did miss out buying a second hand Go pro annoyingly. I guess i want to use it on the motorbike and take some decent video. Cheers i will have a look. Patboy
i've not owned any other cam other than the ghost,so i have nothing to compare it to.its an exelent bit of kit and i am well happy with it. however the diffrent modes/colours can be a little confusing if you dont use it regularly ( the remote has leds in it to remind you what mode ur in). all in all great i'd buy one again however a second battery is needed if your out on a long day.
Another recommendation for the ghost. Well impressed.
If the picture quality is better on the go-pro then it must be truly amazing as the ghost is excellent. I bought one to stick on my lid to take pictures on the go. The form factor is much better for this.
Yes you may get,a better image with a go-pro but you will look a but of a tit with one stuck on your lid.
Also bear in mind that the ghost is ready out of the box. Waterproof, built in display. You need to buy extras for the go-pro (although I believe you can buy a bundle these days).
Whatever is said about the battery, it lasts. If you switch the WI-fi and display off, it will last at least 3 hours. I did an hours continuous recording the other day in the cold and it used 20% I don't think the go-pro lasts that long.
Photoburst mode was the clincher for me for taking pictures on the go.
What amazes me are the people going on about 1080 and 4k recordings, 720 recording is pretty impressive. Higher recording is only really useful.for professionals. Unless you are going to watch all your footage on the PC or are going to make blue ray disks, 720 is good enough for mere mortals.
