So there is another reason why I ditched mine early and bought an Aprilia. Least you can see the chain disintegrating.

42000 miles, main bearing, seal, paralever bearings. Had it reshimmed so that the lash is nice and tight, and changing the fluid every 3K miles now, using BMW synth.
