Yesterday I went out with Colin (Borderraider) in his Disco, for a day out in snowy Kielder Forest (Cheers Colin - Top Day
)
It was an early start with breakfast @ Kielder Castle @ 8.30am, so I left home @ 5.50am to get to Colins by 7am
Fresh overnight snow was the order of the day (familiar theme this winter) and arriving @ Colins, they had had about 3" of new snow
We set off and filled up for the day ahead
We met Mort and Gailforce there, also in a green Disco - nice to meet you both
After a super breakfast 24 vehicles set off, led by the Kielder Rangers to area, usually off limits for the general public and the event raised money for the local Mountain Rescue
Scenary was simply stunning with heavy, fresh overnight snow................the pics say it all, but it really was like Scandinavia out there and I'll let the pics ................say it for themselves
Mort (deliberate shyness
) & Colin
Open views

What a view
At the end of the say the Kielder rangers took the group to an old Sand Quarry, for a play
I've never done anything like this before, but really enjoyed it...............another great way to get out into British fabulous countryside
