Does anybody know if the driveshaft pulls out to enable to grease the splines, on end that mates with the gearbox.I am replacing the diff oil next week so, once the unit is hinged down to drain diff oil(2006 vintage) ,can the shaft just be pulled though the swing arm to grease both ends without disturbing the gator between gearbox/swingarm? and more importantly be relocated once this has been done.

The short answer is no - you'd need to remove the cable tie and pull the front gaitor back. This allows you to lever the u/j away from the gearbox, it's held in place by a spring clip.

It's the input splines you need to worry about - just whip the gearbox off and grease them :thumb
