MikeyBoy has my shaft in for repair; UJs are shot. Sadly the splines on the lower knuckle are also too worn to be of much further use.
I am looking out for a worn shaft that I can canabilise to replace the lower knuckle and can find a lot of 1100 and 850 shafts, even mighty 1150s, that have the same number of splines (20). What is nit clear is whether these would fit the 1200 GS/GSA/RT bevel drive inout shaft. Anyone got any information?
I ask because the 1200 shafts are priced a lot higher than those for earlier models, and seeing that I only want the knuckle from one end I am being a tight-arse about paying top whacj for the rest. At the price of a S/H shaft plus the rebuild costs I could get a warrantied new shaft. It will wear out in less than 2 years ....
