I have a 1999 R1150GS the driveshaft has seen better days, I can get a front end drive shaft fom a 2004... but it has the one missing spline :blast has anyone just removed a spline from the lower shaft so it would fit? 10 minutes with a grinder and hunky dory?

Isn't the one with the missing spline an Adv shaft (or the other way around)?

Yes but it was about alignment not about the GS / GSA difference of 10mm as far as I know, I have a sh..gged 1150 GSA one here somewhere will have a look :D

I'd measure things up carefully - you'd not want to grind a spline off and then find they were a slightly different pattern... :D

A complete drive shaft is usually balanced, to make sure it spins true, otherwise you may get horrendous vibration.

Good luck.

Welsh, when my one universal went South, I managed to get another complete shaft that had been
bent in an accident. I sent both to a propshaft builder. They turned the good part of the donor shaft
off and welded it back onto my original. Was perfectly aligned and no further issues. These guys make
propshafts for a living so they know what they doing. Also they close to you.
