Looking at what's available in the way of LED holders for DRL's. I thought I'd nail one together for a more bespoke look.

I'm happy with the LED Headlight, and decided I didn't want spot's, just a bit more presence. ( I know that's going to get a response... :D )

Decided to hang the light bar off the two hexagonal holes in the front subframe.

Next was to fabricate a Stainless steel bracket, with M10 threaded bar up through the hex holes, and nuts/washers either side to make it height adjustable.

Then drill a 10mm hole in the middle, on the underside to allow for cable routing.
The 3w LED's are cheap items from Hong Kong with a M10 thread and cable hanging out the back. I have siliconed them into place, which will also act a weatherpoofing.

After joining up the wiring using crimps and heat shrink, I bolted the whole thing onto the bike.

Then just a matter of bolting all the plastic's back on in the correct order............. The hardest bit !

I got power straight from the 7.5 amp fuse under the riders seat. I used a piggy back fuse adaptor (Thanks whoever mentioned it on this forum) which goes out 1 minute after the ignition has been turned off.

I think this gives a minimal look to adding the DRL's, without all the bracketry that usually goes with them.

Quite like that, well done :thumb2

Might be worth getting the opinion of a road traffic plod though......in case some jobsworth sees them as spikes or something :nenau

Good effort.

Not sure that Plod will be happy with those barbs sticking out the front of the bike though.

Bend them upwards a bit, and you have two curry take out holders.

If you could attach it to the rear and change the LEDs to red would work well with the panniers. Nice and tidy :thumb2

sorry, here comes an Oscar---looks shite on such an expensive new toy. Really? This has to be a piss take? Good skills and all, but they look so fugly it cannot be true...

Those look frickin lethal. If you clip someone you'll be up shit street with your insurance.

You could have someone's eye out with those! :rob

Now I look at them again, probably one of his own when he spins his head round when checking the tyre pressure.

No wait a minute, panic over, rely on TPS or wear safety goggles.

They look pointier than they actually are in real life. Flat'ish at the front, and about the size of a penny.

And they can't cause any more damage than this............................... surely ?

1p or 1d?

Ya showing ya age now Mr Wapping....................... Come to think of it, so am I !, as I can remember 1d/threpenny bits, and tanners........ Never mind half crowns.

Off subject, and without google...................... How many old pennies in a old pound ?

12 (pennies in a shilling) x 20 (shillings in a pound) = 240

I can remember maths questions at school along the lines of:

Q. What is 56% of £14. 12s 0d? Show workings.

No calculator either.

I had my father's slide rule and Log tables..... Plus with being blessed with a full compliment of fingers on both hands.
