Got done on the North Strand, Drogheda along by the river for speeding in a 50kph.
Nice picture of my back plate on the GS came with the fine in the post.
I know I shouldn't speed and to date this is my first ticket ever but is there a mobile unit in the area and what do the vans look like?
I can live with a fine but assume there's no way out of the points with an Irish licence?

Slick Nick ..... (now not so slick)

They used to use a white van
parked up on hard shoulder just before
Airport going onto M1

Are these speed trap devices calabrated for use on motorcycles? I think maby not. I would seek legal advice before accepting the fine and points. JJH

Heard that the new private companies White Van was on the Ballymun road this morning. 10 D White Transit with a little sticker of a camera on the back of it, to somewhat identify itself, so expect alot of low speed, speed traps around the place.

A way out of paying your fine and not getting the points is to investigate as to whether or not the speed limit has been passed by law and the council.
Only problem is that it takes a solicitor to find this out so not really worth the cost unless its going to put you up to 12 points and loss of licence.

there was 4 yes 4 speed camera vans parked between newcastle west and adare last friday 2 are 10ky red vans and 2 are 10ky white vans all unmarked
new private company in listowel responsible i beleive

Needless to these new new private company will be going for easy pickings rather than going to the well known high risk locations

I must move my tax disc holder to the rear of the bike, so that it can be more easily seen by guards and traffic wardens. I feel it's my civic duty. Lets hope it doesn't slip around and obscure the final number of my reg plate.

Van also parked outside Sachs hotel in donnybrook last week and later on the clontarf road just before the vernon avenue junction.

There was a news report on RTE last week. I think they said 20 new vans had been bought for the purpose. Its only to insure that more people don't die on our roads needlessly not as extra revenue. Thats why their unmarked I guess. :nenau
Finglas under bridge on way in/out of town known spots, as is ballymun Rd just after college, friend in work done 3 times in one week on Ballymun Rd

By the new asshole private speed company or by the Gardai ? we need pics of these vans and locations they have been seen profiteering

Their locations are all in the above link. ANd don't worry if you are on the bike. They cant get your reg with them:D

10 KK 1581

White high roof Transit parked in the 50km zone on the Dunmore Road, Wateford just beyond Woodlands Hotel this evening. THe KK reg suggests its not the Gardai, but a privateer........

He was parked in a bus pull-in..............can he be ticketed for that...?:green gri

They are not allowed to break the law any evidence gathered while illegally parked would be inadmissible jjh
