Hi all,

background - bike has had recent oil change filter change runs normal ron 95 octane fuel has had throttle body sync both at idle and the throttle cable sync at 3000 rev. Bike runs beautifully without vibration. Bike also has a wunderlich fuel controller installed (which richens the mixture). however air filter is stock and cat box is installed with a remus can. I have recently also done a motronic reset by removing the fuse for 15min and then after reinstalling opening the throttle full 3 times after each other.

My query is that when driving and coming off throttle the idle drops down to 900 and then climbs to 1100 approx. This when warm. When cold the drop is more severe. i read somewhere that this means that the mixture is rich at idle. First off, Is this correct?

Is there any way I can improve this for now without removing the fuel controller? (maybe using a K&N air filter). I would like to keep the wunderlich installed because I plan in future to remove the catalyser (need to find one not too expensive).

When you did the TB sync, did you take out the big brass screws (BBS) and clean the idle passages?
If not count up how many turns to remove each screw, clean the passages with carb clean, put a small smear of rubber grease on the o-ring and re-fit the BBS

This improved my old 1150 no-end

Best of luck

As above,
I normally remove the throttle bodies and give them a good scrubb up in the solvent tank with brass screws out.
By the by,brake fluid on a rag is brill for cleaning the butterfly’s and Venturi if you don’t have access to anything else

thanks Guys - cleaned out the BBS and the passage - there was quite some gunk in there....off for a test ride now
