Drum brake hub repair

Hi All,
I'm sorting out a mates XT350 for it's MOT and having difficulty with the rear drum brake. The cast drum lining has cracked meaning the brake runs out and generally doesn't work well. Is it possible to replace the cast bit? Or weld up the cracks and grind flat? I'm not hopeful here...

Been a long time since I've had to deal with drum brakes.

your best bet is to buy another wheel from a breaker
I would not trust a repair of this type

parts are cheap an plentifull, look on ebay,
you can get it repaired , but it prob wont be worth it
