Dry bag help

How does one quantify 10 times quality other than opinion ?

What's the difference in design ?

The Enduristan bags have very strong webbing on them through which you can thread your securing straps or strap another bag on top.
Lomo may have changed but they never used to have that.

Lomo work fine and are good value but the Enduristan bags are of a much higher quality and are much more rugged.

It doesn't! But Arsey knows everything, so best trust him.

Well I used Lomo bags for about 5 years and have now had Enduristan for about 4 years,so have a valid comparison.

Have you got anything positive to contribute, apart from having a snipe ?

Lomo

Lomo - Mine has gone all over SE Asia, fallen down mountains with me and the bike, and its colour is useful when you’re trying to keep together in a group in Hanoi or HCMC etc. I have Kriega that I strap on top of it as well and it doesn’t sag that much if you pack n strap well even on a narrow rear.

Lomo do the job

But in life you tend to get what you pay for and the Enduristan is in a whole differnt league

I have the L and the small and the strong webb loops and some Rok straps allow the 2 to be configured and anchored in a much better way than normal dry bags

The quality of the construction is IMO even better than Kriega and the do feel bomb proof

I cannot recommend them highly enough

I don't think anyone's arguing that Enduristan is great kit. I may well pick up one in future. So far though, my Lomo has done 2 trips around Vietnam, it's had Deet (awful corrosive stuff) leak into it and it remains waterproof and tough. Point is, for less than half the price, Lomo is all the drybag most people need. Enduristan are great and especially if you're riding in harsher conditions or offroad, but for road riders a Lomo is easily enough.

I’ve got their pannier toppers as well for when two up with too many pairs of shoes.
Same with their tank bags and tail packs.
All 100% waterproof and unbeatable quality.
But as you say, you pay for what you get.

Indeed you do :)

Lomo bag, now 12 years old. It's been to Maroc twice, the Himalayas once and countless times around Europe and to Tesco :thumb2

Yep, have used Lomo for over 9 years and Orlib for the same time. Both 100% waterproof no issues with either. Is that good enough?

One be gets what one pays for but I struggle to believe there bags are "ten times" better than the lomo ones.

I get that but it doesnt quite work like that does it

it only has to be twice as good ( or less actually) to be worth the extra cash

That little bit of extra design and the web loops for example

If you turn it around and the Lomo bag falls off and you lose all your kit even though it was a tenth of the price ...

Or the cheap dry bag that leaks a bit so when you set yor camp up you discover your sleeping bag is wet was the extra money worth it at that point ??

I dont care what other people use it is their choice and at the end of it the man asked for recommendations for dry bags and i gave him my recommendation, There was no mention of Budget as i recall

If a limo bag falls off and you lose all your kit then you have done two things very poorly.

1) Failed to secure it to your bike
2) Failed to close it as its intended

Both fails are operator error and zero fault of said bag.

Careless parking there old chap. :D

If you cross the straps over (Rokstraps are great!) through the webbing, the Lomo ain't going anywhere.

Mines went through numerous river crossings in Iceland and dozens of trips here and has failed to fall off or lose my gear, I'm going to pen a serious letter of complaint to the CEO of the company, bloody Scottish rubbish that it is.

I know, right. Just not on is it.

I have to confess though to having killed a Lomo bag. You'd think it would be able to withstand being poorly attached with cut up inner tubes, then thrust into the wheel and chain whilst on an enthusiastic mountain road somewhere in NE Vietnam. But no. Shocking build quality :D

Is that your wig in there?

Andres

I have full and flowing locks :D

It's a brush that, for reasons unknown, my 'mates' thought I would appreciate.

I suppose I asked for it, when on a previous trip we bought this convenient Touratwat accessory for Phil's Minsk.
