So, I’m wondering whether anyone here has done the above and what tyre size you bought to suit? Can’t stand road tyres as some of the roads I use are gravelly. Wish to put on TKC 70’s but need to know the size.

I've used Pirelli Scorpions on a Rockster before and they were good enough to get me through a day on Salisbury Plain in the drizzle and fine on tarmac.
The difficulty will be finding a tyre in that weird size the R1100R uses.
I'm no off-road expert but in my experience, as long as it's dry, then road tyres are ok for dirt roads, just bear in mind the limitations and ride accordingly. Unless you're Travis Pastrana obviously, in which case I'll shut up.

Yep, hence wondering the size people have used. I’ve had a GS in some guise for the past 18years and have always used either Tourance, Trail Attack or Karoo’s. I much prefer them as I ride all weathers and some light off-road terrains. I plan on raising and making it a mini GS as this one is a really good example bike.
