You won't get any grief over loud pipes here. I have an SV1000S with a set of Two Brothers cans - it's disgracefully loud (can't beat the v-twin rumble), and I've never had any issue with our plod.

Just so, Jay. That was one of the thoughts I had when I considered taking it, hopeless romantic that I am!
. However, the possibility of an issue en route to the ferry AND the fact that pal Dave is 1200R mounted = RT. Touch wood the fuel gizmo doesn't act up!
There's not enough of them anymore to be worried about loud exhausts. They're all too busy driving around in their Q7's & making up breath test results

Brut33 and I have now changed our ferry crossing from Friday to Thursday. We will arrive in Dublin at 1715hrs Thursday, and have a B+B booked in Bray. At least we can now take our time riding down via the scenic route instead of rushing Friday evening.

Unless you have a particular reason to stay in Bray, I would venture a little further away from Dublin when you get off the ferry - maybe Roundwood or Laragh. Still only an hour away from Dublin port and it means you are well away from the traffic when you head off the next morning...
I'm afraid that's not possible. My personal travel agent, lifestyle guru, mentor and internet groomer has already booked the B+B.
I thought Bray was on the coast a fair way out of Dublin.

In my limited knowledge of Ireland I thought this would be far enough away from Dublin as already advised in this thread.
It was just a matter of looking at the map and picking a spot near the north edge of the Wicklow Mountains but clear of
Dublin. The idea being, we can ride south via the mountains the morning after.
Prior to this trip, the only other time I spent in Ireland was in Temple Bar some years ago.
Can't remember much about it though.

Temple bar does tend to have that affect on its visitors.Ah, Bray will be fine for starting off the next day - main body of traffic will be heading towards Dublin so you can laugh inside your lids as you ride swiftly down the other side of the road.

The porterhouse on the sea front is an ok pub. They brew their own beer and do some grub.
