Ducati 1100 HYPERMOTARD Had a go Today!!

You don't think you may be looking at this with preconceived ideas and a closed mind do you?

Italian bikes/cars

Practical - not always
Comfortable - sometimes
Reliable - usually
Sexy - definitely
Beautiful - always

KTMs might be fine, but I would definitely need a set of step ladders to ride one. And the colours are - orange or as dull as ditchwater.

Nope..sorry Moody, owned Laverda's, Moto Guzzi and Ducati. All very sexy for sure BUT to live with????? Let's just say you will be very soon on first name terms with the nearest parts stockist and your life will never be dull again. The next time you see a Ducati get up close and look at the way they are screwed together, see where they put the components (oil cooler for example) check out the finish and imagine riding one through a winter or two and then imagine maintaining one in the shed. Then tell me you still want one!
P.S. I am an old git!!!

Hold your horses, if you want an Italian job best wait for Aprillia....

Sorry Sylvester - I already own a Ducati and have found it to be reliable and well finished. It is very easy to live with.

Sorry Piglet - too late.

It wasn't too tall so I swapped one Ducati for another.

I sold my Monster and bought this

It is awesome.

Fast, fun and feisty.

And Manny Fagnet will be pleased to know it's red!
(BTW - I looked at the new KTM 950SM it is a good looking bike - and even comes in a nice black/orange colour but it's too big and heavy for me :( )

That is a gorgeous bike! Is it the S model?

Didn't get to try one at WDW as it was booked out all the days. didn't help when people started binning them.

Yes Tom, it's the 1100S with open clutch and new plate, Ducati Performance seat and rear hugger.

Sorry you didn't get chance to ride one - it's great!
It seems like you enjoyed WDW - although it would appear you enjoyed the scenery (?) as much as the bikes

Were there suppose to be bikes there? I didn't see any. Just bikinis ... Weird :augie

How does the seat offer more performance that the standard one ?

You are not understanding the philosophy of the brand!

I asked someone about their "performance" mouse pad ... sorry seat ... on their 1098 and they looked at me funny :D

It's a weird cult .. we wouldn't understand it. Although there was a sensible fella with a Corbin seat on his 749.

LOL

It's a gel seat with a special profile designed for

"a more forward riding stance that results in improved handling and control. The padding and the special fabric used ensure high comfort level and prevent rider from sliding under braking"

In other words it's prettier and it costs more than the standard seat.

Wow can I get one for a GS:blast :augie

Lovely bike ,good luck with it :thumb2 A mate of mine has just traded his 1200 gs in for one after the test ride,Must be a good bike!

The small tank range bothers me a bit but WOW!:thumb

Keep us informed of how you get on with it please!:clap

The fuel tank range bothered me yesterday when the light came on at 69 miles! But it's worth it for the fun!

I wouldn't want it as my only bike but as a back lane blaster it's great.

I tested one of these today .. it's brilliant .. I WANT ONE!

Anyone know how these stack up against the HP2 in Motard trim, or tried them both?

I would say they are very different.

I have never tried the HP2 but it just looks like it is going to be big and heavy. You need to be big or skillful and small to handle. The Ducati is just light and short and with that engine! The sound! The reflection off the back of the MPV in front :D

Moody, I don't want to tempt fate but you have parked an Italian bike near............Moisture!!!! Ye gads, maybe you've had it blessed by the Pope as a Ducati extra. Mind you the current Pope is German, maybe he could do my GS?:bounce1
