Ducati 1100 HYPERMOTARD Had a go Today!!

Moody, I don't want to tempt fate but you have parked an Italian bike near............Moisture!!!! Ye gads, maybe you've had it blessed by the Pope as a Ducati extra. Mind you the current Pope is German, maybe he could do my GS?:bounce1

Sylvester - you will be pleased to know that I have had 2 previous Ducatis and neither of them dissolved when I left them out in the rain. I am sure this one will be ok 0K too.

I don't intend to use it much in winter when salt on the roads will start to dissolve it
In winter I will mostly be looking at it and admiring it (and riding my H*nda)

Anyone know how these stack up against the HP2 in Motard trim, or tried them both?

I haven't ridden the HP2 - as Novice says it is too big and heavy for me.
It sounds like fun though for someone who has the height (or skill) to ride it.

Moody I'm seriously impressed with that bike.

You're about the same height as me, how does it feel ? Have you had to make any adjustments to it at all ?

Karen, because it is so narrow and fairly light it doesn't seem so high. I was a bit worried about the height but one test ride proved that it wasn't going to be a problem.

I have lowered the ride height adjuster and am lowering the front forks a bit through the yoke, and I have sent away the seat to be sculpted - although it doesn't feel too bad as it is.

With that and my Daytona Ladystar boots I feel quite comfy and confident on it - it's much easier to ride than the Monster, and great fun.

clutch

the clutch seems very hard to operate on the one i tried yesterday! are they all like it?

Not on the one I tried :nenau

However I hear the battery connectors can offer the owner an "interesting" riding experience :augie

LOL - yes you are right Novice - the battery terminals decided to undo themselves after 400 miles and I broke down :blast - the dealer has sorted it out now though.

Nick, I have small, weak hands and don't find the clutch too bad for general use. It is a bit hard in heavy traffic, but not as stiff as the clutch was on my husbands 1200 GS. There is also another master cylinder you can buy to make the operation of the clutch easier, but unless you use it for commuting I wouldn't think it was worth it.
