Ducati 750 super sport

You need some see though covers for the bevel gears. It's not just a case of being able to wank over the spiral cut bevels but you can actually see the oil supply feeding them so you can sweat for about 30 seconds until it starts flowing.

The tank on this one looks different

Yep thats the fiberglass tank supplied with all super sports. It has an unpainted stripe so you can check the fuel level. The 750 super sport were produced in limited homolgation numbers. Allegedly 401 were produced starting in 1974 and 1,000 survive. There are quite a few fakes out there made from 750 sports.

My bike was one of the pre production bikes made in 1973, it most likely came with a fibre glass tank originally, the fuel was known to desolve the fibreglass tanks, the tank would have been replaced with the alloy tank for racing in the 80's

Just catching up with this thread.

Does anyone have any idea what has happened to this machine.

Shame the pictures have gone AWOL too

Have you seen this? The second bike has a very similar history with re-stamped engine number. (y)

Ha ha
I’ve just this second posted the very same elsewhere before seeing your post.

Thanks for thinking of me Number 6

This was for sale last year, started at £22,000 then was quickly reduced to £14,989 which I thought was a realistic price. I was sorely tempted but have too many projects on the go. (Just checked, still for sale!)

Thanks - That’s Frank, normally known for his outrageous prices - he isn’t far from me.

The rather low price reflects the fact that it’s a square case

Nice looking machine, but neither one thing nor another.

I wouldn’t turn it away.

"Nice looking machine, but neither one thing nor another". True, and reflected in the price I would think
With a knackered right knee, I can see the attraction of a pretty bevel twin with an electric start...
