I buy stuff in UK and OS and utilise the exact same companies for the same items/services in different places.
The cost of things in the UK is always more expensive, by a lot, for the exact same product/service from the same business in another country.
Yes, labour and general costs are very comparable, if not more than in the UK. It is taxes and insurances that screw the UK.
Simple example, Google Pixel 10 pro phone 512gb is £1219 in the UK.
OS, the exact same phone is £900. even matching the 20% VAT it is still £990 OS. Oh, and you get 2 years warranty OS unlike 12 months in the UK. The price is from the Google shop in both countries.
