I had the S4R for 2 1/2 yrears. great bike only fault was clocks misting up, I had them replaced under warranty at 2 years. I'd have an SR4S tomorrow (if I could afford it

Sold it to by a Honda Blackbird.... after just 5 weeks old and 1700 miles it needed a new loom

Don't just budget for the itemised servicing, you'll need replacement belts every 2 years and you may need replacement cams at any time
The Monster Owners Club are a really friendly bunch and have an active web forum. I'd ask them
