A fake Royal Enfield made in India...Reversed colonialism ;) Triumph made in Thailand... What has the world come to ?
Fun owning a bike ? The less you own the better you are off because stuff never makes you happy and only weighs you down...Freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose :D
It is fun riding a bike...Adrenalin :thumb

The latest issue of Ride magazine has a "Ridden & Rated" comparison of the two and concluded that:

"Ducati has created a credible rival to the GS. The new Multistrada V4 S is a faster, sharper, more elegant way to travel all-terrain miles on and it's less to service. But the BMW is still that bit more comfortable, quieter, visceral, frugal and cheaper."

Sounds a fair summary.

Stanford the 1250 GS makes more power & torque up to 8000 rpm...So it is faster when you talk top-speed (+20mph) and getting up to top-speed (-2 sec 0-125mph) More elegant is very questionable.Too me the Ducati looks like a GS copy with a face of a duck instead of the longer beak...Less to service is also questionable as the valves of the BMW really don't need adjustment and tend to stay in spec...So it comes down to oil changes and changes of plugs and air cleaner as also the BMW does not have a chain...As for fuel consumption reading the first tests it seems the Duc needing a couple litres of gas more every 62miles/100km's....I don't think the Duc will make a dent in GS sales because all it has over the GS is 30 hp more on top.I think the main competitor is the 1290 KTM which has 10 nm more Torque than the Duc but also 10hp less or the S1000XR which is quiet faster than either MS or SADV-S...
