Took my 1200GS to Robsom Racing yesterday to fit a new rear tyre. Great people operating a great business.
I was on the floor with Mike refitting the rear brake, and a suddenly the pad bit falls to the ground. (As you can tell I'm not a technical person - hense the request for advice)
The backing plate is still in the caliper, but with no pad bit attached. Mike tells me that it's rusted through. There was still a reasonable amount of pad left.
The bike was new last June and I've done 4500 miles.
Now I'd expect the whole pad to last at least the duration of the braking material, not just rot after 9 months.
Should I complain to the dealer (NOG) or just lump it?
It's a pain as now Mike's had to order pads for me, which will arrive probably on Tuesday, and the whole thing has prevented me from journeying down to Oxford to droole over the GSA this weekend
