Dunlop TT100 4.25/85 x 18" rear tyre.

I've got a standard 1977 R100RS fitted with the 2.75" rear rim.
I've been offered a Dunlop TT100, 4.25/85 x18", rear tyre and would like to know if it will fit O.K., ie it won't rub on the swinging arm and will be O.K. to fit and remove without removing the bevel box!
Dunlop, (un-suprisingly), state it's width is 4.25" when fitted on a 2.15" rim, which equates to 108mm.
Anyone tried one?

That sounds like something out of Noahs arc, they havent been around for many years. So named after one Malcom Uphill lapped the TT at over 100 mph many years ago on an old Triumph Boniville and this was the old Triumph works bike.

So it's probably an appropriate tyre for an old R100RS!

Dunlop still make them, now using modern rubber compounds. Sounds pretty good for a 1977 RS, but I've no idea if that size fits.

That's good news, but how old is the tyre? Anything over five years will have started to go off (harden up, loose it's effective grip, perish). As said above the 'TT100' hasn't been made for well over 10 years, but the tread pattern has continued to be used in a modern tyre which is great, because it's a good classic looking tyre for the 60's-80's bikes.
