That sounds about right to me.

You can see the hole from space, but I couldn't spot it until I fell into it.......

I've noticed that track from the road, but didn't realise it went on for some distance. It looks rough. And that looks like a bloody big ford across peat. I think I'll take me wading pole.

I hope this isn't going to turn into some sort of "let's goad that daft Canute Klanky into doing something really stupid" thread.....

I recall many years ago that an englishman tried a bit of offroad action in a Range Rover up in the same area as Klanky's adventure. His vehicle sank past the point of no recovery and is still buried there somewhere in a peat bog. Englishman made it out okay though

No-ones driven down it for years....look at the Gorse

I'll need kevlar underpants, once you get onto more open ground the track is easy to pick up.

The ford looks interesting to say the least - it's about 50m across a sandy bottom...so it's do-able.

I can't give it a go just now, too many ground nesting birds. I'll have to keep an eye open for irate fishermen too.
