I tried out my Puxing 777 radio and found an issue...

I have a Duo 200, with a BT dongle in Aux 1
In Aux 2 and 3 i have a stereo cable, not conneced to anything (usually to GPS/iPod)
When i connected the radio to Aux 4? (Grey 5 pin connector) the radio went into permenant transmit :blast

I removed all other connectors and it stopped.
Reconnecting Aux 3, the radio started to transmit again.
I reconnected all other cables and no Tx, but reconnecting Aux 3 (with nothing on the other end of the cable) the radio started to Tx.

With PTT lead in PTT mode, the radio operates as required.

Any ideas? :nenau

Also found radio needed to be ~1m away from intercom unit, otherwise i had a hummmmmm...

You must use a 4-pole plug in Aux 3 if you are using Aux 4 (grey lead) for bike to bike. What ever you are plugging into Aux 3 is shorting VOX to earth causing Aux 4 to go into constant transmit.

I guess the next question is where can i get a 3 pin stereo connector to 4 pole connector and lead from, so this does not happen?

Alternatly, what's the pinout of the 4 pole connector and i'll replace the existing plug with one from Maplin.

The socket going from the tip of the plug is Mic, Speaker, VOX ,Earth, so I think you'll get mono into both ears at best using Aux3 . Suitable leads - I'm unsure what you're trying to plug into Aux3 - can be obtained from Autocom.

If you want to plug a mono GPS into Aux 3 then consider part 2248 2.5mm mono plug to 4 pole plug + isolator 2253 if the GPs is bike-powered.

Thanks BeemerBoy

I guess i'm out of luck trying to use 2 stereo sources to the unit - boo.

Still awaiting for the GPS to arrive - have the Zumo 660 on order. Hopefully i'll be able to find a way to connect the phone from the GPS to Aux3 and the music to Aux 2.
- do you have the connection details for Aux 2?

I have a BT dongle on Aux 1.

Interesting: Can i short the VOX and earth to use as part of a diy PTT switch?
Save having to butcher the Autocom PTT switch.
