Duplicate file finding ...

Is there a way, in either Windows 7 or a shareware programme, to find which files are duplicated on my laptop and separate Western Digital HD without trawling through all the folders. I seem to be running out of space very quickly

However, storage space is cheap, either physical in the form of huge hard drives or in the cloud with virtual storage such as dropbox. So the long term solution is buy or rent more.

shows you what directories are using up space graphically, there are unscrupulous websites that allow you to download it for free.. but I would never condone that type of thing

incidentally this program helped me track down a hidden folder that apple quicktime was caching and storing HD trailers from trailers.apple.com in..

Another one I have grown to love is "Agent Ransack", great for searching for files containing a piece of text you are looking for, but also, do a search on all files > than say, 5000 (5MB), you would be amazed what pops up and what you can delete to free up room.
