DVD/RW Software

Cheers guys for the suggestions, recently. Now for the next query. Anybody suggest a good,and simple DVD software program, for copying home movies, and backing upo DVD's. I have the basic Roxio addition for my new RW, but it won't copy AC3 audio. I need to up-grade, in their words, and make a further purchase. Any suggestions, would be most welcome....

Is there a particular reason you want to copy the AC3 files as they are?

It might be much easier to convert them into MP3's then burn them with anything you like, including your Roxio.

You can convert them with a lot of decent free progs...I use Ace Mega codec pack dashboard, a free download that hasn't yet failed to open a media file for me, including some very obscure film clip files.

Excuse my ignorance, old chap, but for example I was copying a movie earlier. The program refused to copy the sound, stating,'this media file contains AC3 audio, this basic program will not copy it, instead it will be replaced with silence.' Hence a perfect copy of the movie to hard drive, minus sound.

You need a program called DVD Decrypter to rip the film from the DVD onto your PC.

You can download this for free from www.dvddecrypter.com

There are one or two other steps to do after this but I'd rather not post them here, not enough time at the moment. If you would like me to write you a step-by-step guide then please email me or send me a PM and I'll put one together for you
