Playing with the registry will end in tears you know :)

The value depends on the registry key you are trying to set/amend.

What is prompting you to change it?

I've backed up the relevant section of the registry, so if it all goes titsup, I can restore.

My PC has a DVD-ROM and a DVD-RW. Generally they are both used as reading drives. However, I occassionally burn DVDs of my home videos :eyebrow using Sony-Vegas DVD Architect. That all works OK.

What I can't do is burn a regular CD. If I right-click on the drive icon in My Computer, I should see a 'Recording' tab under 'Properties' - but it's not there.

I'd assumed, maybe wrongly, that it was just down to an incorrect DWORD value (which was '1'). I tried changing it to 5 and rebooting, but it's made no difference.

Any ideas?

Greg
