With my 1250 in Dynamic Pro the suspension's not far off being as firm as my KTM Super Duke R. On my old 1200 I could switch to soft mode for the classic bumpy UK country lanes without affecting the power, but on the 1250 I only seem to have the option of going to Rain Mode which reduces the power too :-( I was thinking of switching to Enduro Pro mode in the hope that it might soften things up a bit and keep the wheels in contact with the floor more often, but I have a vague recollection of one of those 'Not for Highway Use' caveats somewhere. Any done it ? any problems ?

Why don’t you set the suspension to Road mode but leave the bike in Dynamic? I don’t have the Pro dongle thingy plugged in but I have the bike mode set to Dynamic but changed the suspension to Road which made quite a bit of difference.

I'm with you on this one(1200 '17 is the same) I wish I could have ROAD throttle response and power with RAIN suspension.

Not sure if this is going to work but if it does above should be a table I found on AdvRider which seems to say how it all works.
Also found something on BMW South Africa which says that Enduro Pro is for knobblies only, plus it deactivates ABS on the rear which may be fine off road but in a panic on road could cause you some problems.
Enduro looks more promising but what I'd really like is the ability to have a rider defined riding mode where I can set both engine, ABS and suspension characteristics.

The engine and electronics settings are completely independent of the suspension settings (even controlled by 2 separate buttons on the bars).

On '17 onwards (D-ESA) bikes when you set a mode, ROAD for instance, the electronics gives you two damping settings and one throttle response. This is different for each mode and cannot be changed.
On the previous (ESA) version the throttle response could be changed independantly, you can have Rain damping with Dynamic throttle response or any combination of damping/T-response, this is not possible with post '17 D-ESA bikes.

Bit confused as if you set Dynamic (throttle) you can have road or dynamic suspension setting , Road setting (throttle) you can have road or dynamic suspension .
Road being , , normal (softer) and dynamic being , sport (harder)
I agree its not as good as the pre D-ESA that why I changed to Tractive

The difference is which damping the mode gives as it's default, Dynamic mode/throttle gives dynamic damping, Road mode/throttle gives road damping you have to change the damping from these default settings if you want it any different.
Tractive suspension does not change any of this, it does allow you to change the high and low comp damping to suit your style of riding and is of far better quality than stock.

I can´t see where the problem is, I ride mine (1250) on dynamic pro/road all the time

Thanks , that's what I meant , you can change it to suit and yes the Hi Lo makes a massive difference along with the shock internal as we know fluid movement is the key

OK, back to the beginning after a little digression.

Has anyone actually tried riding on the road in Enduro (not Enduro Pro) mode ?
Or had any advice on the subject from BMW ?

When all this Corona c**p comes to an end I'm planning to give it a go and see what happens but if someone can tell me that either they tried it and ??? happened, or that their dealer / BMW tech support told them not to do it that would help me make my decision.
Thx

Wobbly65 - thanks for the link. That was interesting although it didn't answer the question. There are another two vids, one about ESA and one about Extreme (offroad). The ESA one doesn't really tell you much. The Extreme one is more about having confidence in the bike but it does briefly mention (without explaining anything) that in EnduroPro mode you can seperate the engine and the ESA. More food for thought.

Yes , is bouncy , and better for off road . If you push hard on back roads it gets interesting, if a little awkward. Back lanes in Road / dynamic works .
I keep mine mainly in dynamic as I like a hard ride , but I think that’s due to racing off-road .

Am I missing something here?
All you need to do is choose dynamic mode and then change the suspension to road and 'hey presto' dynamic throttle, road suspension.
I use this all the time.

No I’m sure I posted that before , as you say .
Road /Dyn. Dyn/road. Or full fat Dyn

OK, if anyone rode the old 1200 with ESA it had a soft option which you could use on some of the crappy back roads I ride. It kept the wheels in contact with the floor a bit more often and it didn't jar my spine. On the 1250 I find both of the Road/Dynamic options are too hard and riding with a bit of "spirit" sees both wheels off the floor too much. The only answer is to switch to Rain mode but that softens the throttle off and loses the "spirit" which is not what I want. So, next stop Enduro or Enduro Pro because I reckon that should soften the damping & give longer suspension travel. The question is are there any good (probably mechanical or software) reasons why I shouldn't do this.

Thanks to all the helpful people who have said they don't see the need to do this. That's fine, you carry on doing whatever you want to do, I've tried that and for what I want it doesn't work for me.

I don't suppose for a moment the suspension travel will change, selecting Enduro mode. I have a memory of selecting Enduro Pro accidently on my last GS and got suspension that was so wallowy it was unreal, just like my Tiger 955i from years back was.

Okay , do what I did , Tractive Suspension, expensive but you can dial in the area you seem to be missing . Good luck
