I'm struggling with this and would be obliged if I can gain experience from others on here.

Initially, I was having problems with the location of the reservoir but I have resolved this by finding a fitting point on the nearside
Now, I am finding it hard to find a location for the electronics, handlebars are not under consideration as the GPS is on the left so
siting it on the right is likely to obscure the computer display

I would appreciate comments, where did you fit yours and did you identify other problems
Many thanx, Tony

Scotoiler

You've probably checked but there was fitting info on the Scotoiler website for the 800gs including a video?

Never understood reason to mount an oiler. Gives a mess. The bikes have chains with O-rings, so oil will never get to inside of chain. Only need to keep chain clean and spray some lube on every 1k or so. I did change chains to DID though, much better. Am on 30k now, adjusted twice, chain like new.

I have a Scott oiler old vacuum one. Works a treat. Agree with DID chains I sometimes paint on some gear oil. Can't see point of electronic one. JJH

An awful lot of dealers don't install the Scottoilers correctly. Roynie complained about the mess his made (fitted by a well-respected Triumph dealer) and was presented with a new one for the trip - together with correct fitting instructions, which bore no relation to the (extremely common) way it had been installed initially. At Scottoiler's request, he wrote a little blog entry to explain the issues. (Ignore the state of the chain, it was changed shortly afterwards.)

Thanx for the comments & links, very interesting
I was having difficulty siting the electronics unit but I have now resolved this by siting it on a bolt on the engine casing by the clutch housing beside the
front frame tube out of the way and easily accessed when re-proging it

The e was a gift so giving it a try out, its cost me nowt so I can change it if its not right to something with a gravity feed

Regards
