It's a good point. I don't find him quite as irritating as Dunphy or Green but the BBC sometimes use Tubridy to cover Chris Evans when he's away. A worthy replacement IMO.

Like all contemporary media personality it is contrived & manufactured to fill a slot in the market [as with boy bands or whatever].
I don't find his slot attractive but broadcast companies will monitor listnership & he may go the way of Hector [too rural apparently].
They have likely done their homework & there will be plenty who find his contrived style OK.

He could be a good guy in reality but he is likely a pr1ck in that context.
Of couse this being Ireland the next question - a complete pr1ck or a bit of a pr1ck?
