Anyone contemplating geting custom-made earplugs ought to have a look at this lot:

You mix together two pots of goo then press the resulting putty into your lug-holes where it sets. It's also as cheap as chips - somthing like $12 mail order from the states.

I recommend this product and have no connection with the company.
