Earplugs

I have tried many of the disposal ear plugs, but never truly happy. So took the plunge and bought a pair off Micky, good value for money with filters, comfy, turned down the sat nav, just great.

Must admit more careful with these than disposable ones because losing £2.50 is one thing but not the cost of custom fit.

Not affiliated in anyway to Micky except we both live in gods own country - Yorkshire!

I have often wondered why one of the motorcycle helmet manufactures have not come up with a helmet with built in ear protectors-something like military pilots/tank commanders wear but with full face protection-am i missing something here?

I ordered custom plugs from http://www.ultimateear.com/ at the bike show a couple of years back- both with and without drivers/ loudspeakers. Expensive but I just seem to have the kind of ears which don't hold onto a foam plug. They have been excellent and when the loudspeaker ones packed up earlier this week (connection failed on plug), they couldn't have been more helpful in repairing and getting them back to me really quickly (in time for trip next week). :thumb

Tried loads and always having trouble with one staying in as when you put your hat one it often drags it out.
Now using Howard Lights but cutting them in two making them half the length which helps them to stay in and they work just as well. Twice as many for your dosh.:augie

I too went the custom route using Ultimate Hearing Protection. But they were used a handful of times as they wouldn't stay in the ears and would only stay in by using medical tape across the ear! :-( - They were made using the hard yellow compound. I felt they were a waste of money and very disappointed as I'd been hankering after them for ages.

Personally, I use Howard Leights and to get the best fit, roll 'em and lick 'em before inserting.

My 2.19 worth.

Boots wax ones work for me and SWMBO's dainty ear canals (NO NOT THE SAMES ONES:eek:). Very reusable though. One set lasted 7k miles to syria and back.

We had custom ones which were good, but i lost one:blast Too much of numpty to keep good stuff.

Regards

Path.
