Not sure this is in the right place but can anyone recommend good quality earplugs.
Just changed the bike and it’s a little noisier. I’m not after disposable ones really.

I have a cardo fitted and like to listen to music whilst I’m riding. I don’t mind paying for quality kit.

Cheers Steve.

I had a pair custom made from Specsavers. Cost about £200 a few years back. I wear them for gigs too.

I’ve got several pairs, including hyper expensive custom moulded UE monitors.

For daily use I have a pair of Auritech silicone pleated/ribbed cone style ear plugs that filter wind noise but let you hear. They are £18.95 on Amazon.

I also use a tube of ear balm gel with them to ease insertion and removal as they are a little tight when inserting dry. I guess a small tin of Vaseline lip balm would do the same cheaply.

For cheapness, I bought a pack of 100 Oxford foam earplugs

There are bloomin’ useless, although memory foam, they revert to full size really quickly so you don't have enough time to pop them in.

These from Boots, however, are a revelation, brilliant.

Washable too.

Sorry this does not help Mr Gedjack but anyone else interested I use Laser Lite ear plugs .. a box of 100 pairs about £15 from Mr Amazon. Pink and yellow I trim the end off for a good fit, so the end doesn't get pulled out when you put the helmet on. They are very good and no problems with comms and or music.

I've got some Alpine Motosafe ones. Typical Christmas tree type, but what makes them better than the others is the insertion tool which helps get them in correctly and also means the stalks are easier to get hold of to remove them after.

I use Custom Fit Guards, lots of options and do the job very well
I’ve just done same .
Had impressions done at local whoredeologist and sent them to Custom Fit for their CF Auto V2 which I think they’ve renamed Dual

Years ago had Ultimate Ear with speakers built in but they were crap .
Came down and didn’t fit . Got them adjusted .
Right speaker failed after a year then left failed on next trip . They wanted £75 per side to repair even though less than 18 months old . Chucked them in the bin .
Utter shite and dreadful customer service .

I take it you can still hear your music through these ?

The best disposable I ever found are the 3M ones and can be bought by the box of 200 pairs for not a lot of money

The custom fit ones that Micky made for me are in a different league though

I have several yellow 3M foam ones in each jacket pocket - for emergency.

But I found the Alpine ones to be very comfortable and perfect for the job:

The "Race" model, with the red "tail".

I used Alpine earplugs when playing drums and always found them excellent (considering the low price).

I bought some Custom Fit Guards earplugs about 8 years ago. There was nothing wrong with them and they fitted very well, but the speakers for my Cardo Scalla Rider intercom that sit in the recesses within my helmet squashed the fleshy part of my ear (The Tragus) against the earplugs making them uncomfortable after a very short while so if you want to use an intercom either make sure there's plenty of room between your ears and the speakers or get some with the speakers built in. My helmet's a Schuberth S2

I use the red Alpines as well. I actually prefer them to my custom fit ones.

I had a pair made at a local game fair cost about £70, the were meant to have cords fitted. When they arrived the cords were missing, so they supplied another pair with cords. And told me to keep the other pair, so two pairs for £70 result

I have Custom Fit Guards, with the single level noise filter.

Great fit (they did the impressions at my home), excellent noise reduction, but I can still hear my intercom and music, as well as emergency vehicles etc.

They are also durable, and with care will easily last several years.

Highly recommended in my opinion.
