Earth Points?

Just wondering about when you hook up accessories to the bike - does it matter whether you connect the earth cables to the frame or the negative terminal on the battery. If it does matter how do you decide which?

I also remember reading before that you shouldn't have too many devices on the same earth point - is this true?

as long as its a good connection then it does'nt matter wether or not you earth to the frame or battery post, but its more likely to be a good connection at the battery post

I always earth back to the battery, either directly or to a known lead that I've added. That way you don't have to try and remember where you've earthed all your add-ons in the event of problems.

... There's a convenient major earthing point on a 12GS, LHS on top of the engine if you've got the tank off.
