Easter 2006 International GS Rally

Hi Romeo
I sent an email ysterday to the organiser and I had a reply back this morning. If you want to send me you name and address etc via a PM then I'll drop Willy an email in Dutch and ask him to get his finger our and confirm to you.

Just for the record, I am nothing to do with the organisation or the GS club Vlaanderen who are running this event. I just happen to live in Belgium and don't mind helping out if I can.

Cheers
Gecko

Romeo,
To be able to use the PM functionality you need to be a forum sponsor. It seems that Willy is awake some maybe try emailing him again directly and if that still doesn't work drop me a PM after you have become a site sponsor and I'll be happy to help. To be a sponsor just click on site sponsor in anyone's avatar and it'll explain what it's all about.
Cheers
Gecko

Only 3 weeks!

Only three weeks to go! :moped: Im really loooking forward to meet all. :beerjug:
Just 2 questions to ask: :bow
First, GPS coördinaten: N51 10.922 E4 55.725 Is this the actual location of the event or does it refer to someones house? :nenau
Secondly, at the moment I have new road tyres on my bike(1150ADV). Im considering putting off road tyres for the event. :guitarist :Would I enjoy the activities with the road tyres or would you advise me to change them?thumb
I havent any off road experience with this bike. :peach:
Thanks Romeo.

The GPS Coords will be for the actual site, if the last 4 years have been anything to go by.

Tyre wise: there will be two grades of off road event, hardcore (TKCs or sim required) and 'beginners' (Tourance friendly as long as it doesn't piss it down).

Weigh up those options vs riding god knows how far on Mway on TKCs.....?

Yup - wot Cogs said.
The "all road" ride is generally on hard packed dirt or gravel with the possibility of some sand with joining sections of asphalt in between. As long as the weather has been fair these will be do-able on tourances. The "off road" is more serious and likely to be more challenging . Some of the Belgium brotherhood are seriously into their off roading so it is fairly hard core but riding with soft sand and mud likely on the route but with a 'drop-off' system you always have someone coming up behind you in case things get a bit tricky.
See you there :thumb

DEN

Me and a load of mates'll be on the same ferry as you, though we're off to a different event! If you see an immaculate Red / White 100GS PD, pop over and have a chat. You'll recognise me by the 8 Harley Davidsons escorting me!! (If they make it to Newcastle..)

Though, have though about poppng down to the GS do. It's about 100 miles from where we'll be.

OH Bother. Not a boatfull of Harley riders. Bandannas and leather waistcoats with badges.. Last time I had to suffer a boatfull of Gold whingers.
Im going under cover. :)

Nah..different bunch! Well over 60,000 miles on all these bikes ( one's over 100,000) None of 'em wear leathers or are HOG members, no goatee beards, no denims, no patches, no bike clubs, no attitude, no open face pi55 pots!...and 3 of 'em are well tidy burds!! You'll be right!

Fair play about the 'Whingers'..I usually meet a load of 'em on the other crossing. One of 'em actually had a miniture fold out caravan behind his Whing!!
