Easter ride out?

I don't think neither of us meant to be offensive Chris. ;)

But anyway, you must visit some part of Africa with your bike before you've made it. :thumb

What's wrong with using your GS?

Good Plan mate...use a twenty year old bike that they NEVER sold in any part of Africa......It's a genius plan, I'm surprised that nobody ever thought of it before..... Remember me to the Vultures won't you ?

The GS is too heavy, too expensive and doesn't have the suspension for it. I worry about the shaft drive failing as it'll be taking a hammering.

DR800 was imported to Swaziland, Africa. :rob

It's immaterial anyway, the only place for major parts for any bike is South Africa. DR's were a huge hit around Europe.

nave from Israel on advrider has done over 200k on the original engine and clutch. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7596085&postcount=60

Many of the Dakar bikes (has a 1200GS ever done the Dakar?) even use original suspension! http://www.rallye-tenere.net/Suzuki.html

Oh I stand corrected, Must be swarming with them if they sold them in Swaziland with the MASSIVE spares back up system they have there.... Still, let me know how it works out for you...............

Getting back to the topic, my ever lovely wife has given me the day off from domestic bliss god bless her :hug

so I'll be out and about where and when are you meeting ???:nenau

Cheers

Phil

Good choice Snoopy, I had a 650 for 10 years that took me all over Europe trouble free (punctures aside). Top tip....sort the seat out:thumb2

So was a meeting point and time decided or has interest faded due to the weather?

Obviously I won't turn-up.

Weather's just cold (and a bit damp and snowy), been to Hartside and then Hardknott, trying to warm up now. Yes heated grips on again!

10:00, The Wentworth Carpark? (in Hexham), is fairly central, and has the added bonus of being near to me, so I get more of a lie in :augie.

Where are we going again?
