Easy green laning Basingstoke area Saturday/Sunday (10/11th Jan) - Who`s up for it?

Would like to join you on Sunday but wont know if I can make it until Saturday - is this going to be ok.I have the twinduro tyres on my x challenge which are not that chunky are the lanes you have in mind passable on this type of tyre?
Thanks

thought I'd update my diary I can't make saturday already been booked on another gig.:blast

update

After my earlier post i have ridden couple more lanes this evening, most lanes passable on road bias tyres, even muddy bits can be ridden round, especially if on anything lighter than a gsa (which i have). Popped into uncle/aunties pub, they are more than happy to have us stop in sunday for lunch, warm pub good food. so here is my plan. meet at alton. The village of bentley is a good place as i know a nice lane there which can get us started. So how about sort of 10AM in the village of bentley which is between alton and farnham. Meet at the village hall. Any thoughts.:thumb2

I have sorted pub for us no problem there, meet in bentley seems to be the general thought. I have checked out couple more lanes last night, so even the most road bias tyres shouldnt have to much trouble.
See you all sunday morning then. Will keep eye on this till then
Cheers all:thumb2

I should be able to make it as well.
Not sure if I'll be on the GS or the KLX yet.

Fingers crossed

Room for another?
I live in Farnham so it'd be rude not too, all being well see you at ten.
Very little offroad/green lane experience but would love to tag along if poss.

Another one new to greenlanes.

Hi, I'm close by in Axford, and have been looking longingly at greenlanes for a while and this seems a great chance to try some local ones out. Not sure I'll take the new 1200 along but maybe the little Honda. Hope to see you in Bentley at 10 on Sunday and see how long I can keep up.....

The more the merrier. All welcome, will bring camera along for plenty of pic`s. Everyone welcome to come to pub. The lanes are mostly frozen, couple of muddy bits. Have a couple more lanes im thinking of adding to the trek, will test them saturday afternoon. On the whole all passable, little bit over grown in places, but i was able to get through on a gsa with no damage.

Weather is looking to be cold and dry. I reckon that the by the time we leave bentley it should possible take till about 1pm ish to work our way to pub for lunch. i will decide on the final route saturday afternoon. Will post on her saturday evening any more info.

Cheers :thumb2

engine bars turned up yesterday, just need to fit them!! pretty nervous about taking 1200gs off road tho...havent done that for 20+ years and road tyres...and I struggle with the height a bit (only one foot down at a time) reckon I should give it a go?

if i were in your shoes I'd wait till weather improved. Can't really see point in takin yer pride and joy off road in poor conditions and damage it or yerself.
This ride does sound good fun, but in my opinion i'd wait till better weather.
Just my thoughts folks, no disrespect to those organizing it

I will come on the DRZ (assuming it runs OK -been parked up since oct) in multiple jumpers. Can you PM your number so I can let you know if I can't get the pogo running.

think you may be right...will be out anyway sunday so may pop along and say hi, then go for a run out

All welcome

Im of the same thoughts, there are couple of muddy bits if your notsure, dont push yourself or your bike. If you like there are road stretchs that join most lanes, some l;ane are hard and clear which you should have to much problem with. So your more than welcome to jump the muddy lanes, what ever you feel comnfortable with more than welcome.:thumb2

I'm in the same boat, dont fancy been thrown in at the deep end but by the same token dont want to bail out.....out of 10 how difficult would you say it is, 10 being for professional off road lunatics?? :nenau

Stop ya bleeting & get ya arses down for a fun morning of gentle laning.

The title of the thread has the word 'Easy' in it. :thumb2

Bomb holes, mud slides & deep water crossings will be after 4.30pm ;)

Hi guy`s, the lanes are either hard packed surface (the one`s near alton are hard gravel. The lanes nr greywell range from grass with tracks/muddy patchs, couple of them are muddy with bomb craters. you can get round these. Lanes out the other side b/stoke are farm tracks grass/ mud. Nothing more than 6-8. The difficult bits can be ridden round no problems.

Any further info just shout

Newbies need not worry, :thumb2:comfort:thumb2
